Yarns on Stage Sock Yarn Party

Come join us on Saturday, October 16, for the grand opening of 10 different colorways created by ten different artists using ten different sock yarns. These yarns are being offered for the first time throughout the world in this unique event. So how do we at Seattle Yarn celebrate sock yarn--with sake and Socratic wisdom, of course. Starting at 10 am we will present the yarns and let you meet Sydney the sheep, one of the advertising stars of this promotion.
Come enjoy this enjoyable occasion at Seattle Yarn.

Sake and Socratic Wisdom Sock Yarn Party

Join us on Saturday, October 16, for the first showing of the Yarns on Stage. Ten designers have created 10 beautiful colorways and used ten different sock yarns which will be offered on a limited basis. These colorways will never be produced again so come and celebrate with us at Seattle Yarn.
Starting at 10 am, we will present the yarns and celebrate with a little sake and lots of Socratic wisdom. We'll throw in a few cookies and some tea to round out the party and present our special guest, Sydney the sheep who is adorned with sock yarn. Times like these call for a reason to celebrate and a reason to enjoy each other's wisdom.

Knitting Classes

Learn to Knit
Tuesday nights from 6-8 Lia can teach you to knit. You'll learn the basics: to knit and purl, and anything else you want to learn during these three lessons. Bring your own knitting needles, smooth yarn or purchase supplies before the class. $80 with class size limited to 4 students.
Thursdays are also available during these hours if enough students sign up.
October 5, 12, 19 (Tuesdays)
October 7, 14, 21 (Thursdays)
November 2, 9, 16 (Tuesdays)

Project Knitting Lessons
Wednesdays from7-9 we have our drop in knitting class with a knowledgeable staff member. This is a great class if you run into a problem with your knitting, want some help with gauge, need to sew up your sweater or just want company knitting. The instructor can also help you pick out a new project if you wish. Don't knit alone--this class has been ongoing for more than 15 years--come join the party.

Saturday mornings from 9-11 we also have this class.
$10 per session.

Let us know if you have a class you want us to teach. We have the knowledgeable staff and all we need are three people and a time that works for you.

Shannon Mullett-Bowlsby=Crochet

Shannon has been in and out of our store for years--now he is joining us to teach our crochet classes. He has expertise and he has charm--and he is published. This month his design appeared on the cover of Britain's popular Crochet magazine.
If you need to learn the basics, he is there every Thursday from 6-8 pm. The fee is $25.
If you know the basics, but need to brush up on a technique or have a problem with a pattern he can help you at $10 during the two hour class period.
Last week Shannon taught Ruthie an elastic base chain which will free her to make designs with more ease and comfort.
The drop in format has been a great success for our Wednesday knitting classes and we hope to make this your go-to place for two hours of good creative hooking. Come join the fun.
